The name has Sanskrit origins and it has got several layers of meaning and depth. It refers to a person who is trustworthy, not coveting, or not taking things he is not entitled to, as well as not obstructing other people’s desires in life.
Asteya is not about assets, earnings or inheritance. It is about how to make decisions, especially about money. The idea is contentment with things that come to a person by honest means.
